flickkšrerna Kšrmitz and Kšramellerna from Lunds Kulturskola, samt Karamellerna from the Cathedral in Lund, slagverksduon
Johan Westerberg och Christian Ekstedt och pΠorgel Jonas Lundstedt.
Dirigent var Alexander Einarsson I Lunds domkyrka, 11 oktober, 2009

Levande Vatten is an oratory on the theme of Baptism.
It was awarded a grant from the cultural board of the Church of Sweden in 2008,
and is commissioned by the Diocese of Lund. It is one of the first larger
musical interpretations on the theology around baptism.
The work contains very
much, since baptism to me seems to be about all of life, both happy moments and
death. It is also inspired from the rich symbolism surrounding baptism, moving
from earth, through water into fire.
Earth in this context
stands for both the story of the baptism of Jesus where he is ÒgroundedÓ, as
well as a symbol of opening up your eyes.
Water stands for life,
for our world and environment, but also for purity and for death, since to be
baptised for some means to die and be resurrected in a way.
Fire is the Holy
Spirit, but also another way of purity and inspiration.
Levande Vatten is divided into three larger sections,
but contains as much as 20 smaller parts, ranging from 1 minute to approx. 5.
It is also possible to add a sound installation to enhance the atmosphere
before the music starts.
Naturally it is
possible to perform only one part or section, or to combine freely. A
suggestion of possible combinations can be offered.
Levande Vatten is composed for mixed choir, childrens choir, two percussionists, organ and electronics.
Several versions for smaller
settings are also coming soon: mixed choir and piano, mixed choir with piano
and one percussionist, only childrens choir and
piano.
It was premiered by Kirsebergs kammarsŒngare, girls choirs Kšrmitz and Kšramellerna from Lund City School of Music and girls choir
Karamellerna from the Cathedral in Lund, percussion
duo with Johan Westerberg and Christian Ekstedt and on organ Jonas Lundstedt.
It was conducted by
Alexander Einarsson in the Cathedral of Lund, Sweden,
october 11, 2009
